Book List

March 2010:

The Great Divorce
C. S. Lewis
The first non-fiction Lewis I’ve ever finished. A stunning, quick read, yet full of deep theology that will keep me puzzling for a long time. I read this because I love the Caedmon’s Call song “The High Countries,” which was based on this book.

Devil Bones
Kathy Reichs
The first “Bones” book I’ve ever read. Torturous. Much prefer the television program.

Ten Discoveries That Rewrote History
Patrick Hunt
Fascinating view of ten archaeological sites and the ways they changed history.

Next
Michael Crichton
The first Michael Crichton novel I’ve ever read. Muddy and convoluted, with no real resolution. I may try Jurassic Park instead.

January 2010:

Nanny Returns
Emma McLaughlin and Nicola Kraus
The second of the “Nanny” books. Depressing as hell.

Same Kind of Different As Me
Ron Hall and Denver Moore
For the Bloom Book Club

Coming Attractions (Katie Weldon Series)
Robin Jones Gunn
P.S. Don’t judge me. I needed some teenage fluff…

End of 2008:

Under the Table: Saucy Tales from Culinary School
Katherine Darling

My Life in France
Julia Child
